Dime Defensive Formation
Feb 08, 2024Dime formation is when your defense has six defensive backs on the field. Traditionally it’ll be 4 CBs and 2 safeties, but it just depends on the personnel on your team and your coach's strategy.
That leaves five other players on the field. It can be three defensive linemen and two LBs .
Or four defensive linemen and one linebacker, it depends on the play call from your coaches.
This formation is most often used in passing down situations.
