What Is A Screen Play In Football?

american football football training screen play Feb 06, 2024

A screen is when the defense fakes like they are throwing the ball deep when they are actually throwing the ball short

In a screenplay, the OL will let their defenders rush the QB for free and they will go form a wall in front of the RB.

The RB is sneaking past the rushing defenders and occupying the space between the DL and LBs.

It is important for the WRS and QB to sell the deep pass because it will make the LBs sink more, giving the RB and OL more room to develop blocks downfield.

The purpose of the screen pass is to attack an aggressive defense.
