Trap Running Play
Mar 05, 2024Trap running play is a blocking scheme where someone on the defense is getting trap blocked by an offensive lineman.
The guard and the tackle to the play side will let the DT on the play side go unblocked.
The guard on the backside will utilize a pull block to trap the play side DT.
This will create a trap block because you are letting the DT think they have a free shot at the QB when really they are being set up for a trap.
